Unplug the server from AC power
Open the chassis only if you are authorized and it is safe to do so
Locate the motherboard front-panel header
Find the two pins labeled PWR_SW, PWRBTN, or Power Switch
Briefly short those two pins together with a screwdriver or jumper
Remove the short immediately after the server starts
If the server has a chassis management controller, use its remote power-on option
If the PSU has a test/start feature, use only the manufacturer-approved method
Reconnect the power button cable if it was disconnected
Consult the server manual for the exact pinout and power-on procedure
