Align the lock to the correct combination
Turn the dial clockwise to the first number
Pass the first number once if required by the lock type
Stop on the first number
Turn the dial counterclockwise to the second number
Pass the second number once if required by the lock type
Stop on the second number
Turn the dial clockwise to the third number
Stop on the third number
Pull the shackle or open the lock
If it does not open, reset the dial and try again carefully
