Press the touchpad enable/disable key, usually one of the function keys with a touchpad icon
Press Fn plus the touchpad key if required
Double-tap the top-left corner of the touchpad if your HP model supports it
Open Settings
Go to Bluetooth & devices
Select Touchpad
Turn Touchpad on
Open Control Panel
Select Mouse
Open the Touchpad or Device Settings tab
Enable the touchpad
Open HP Support Assistant or HP Keyboard and Touchpad settings if installed
Check for a touchpad lock option and turn it off
Restart the laptop
Update or reinstall the touchpad driver in Device Manager
Connect an external mouse if needed to navigate settings
