How To Update BIOS?

Identify your motherboard/laptop model and current BIOS version

Download the latest BIOS update from the official manufacturer support page

Read the BIOS update instructions and required prerequisites on the manufacturer site

Confirm your system is compatible with the BIOS file (model, revision, region, OS/utility requirements)

Prepare a stable power source (use AC power; avoid battery-only operation for laptops)

Back up important data and close all running applications

If using a Windows-based updater:

Run the official BIOS update utility as directed

Do not interrupt the process (no reboot, shutdown, or power loss)

If using a BIOS flash utility from BIOS/UEFI (USB method):

Format a USB drive as instructed by the manufacturer (commonly FAT32)

Copy the BIOS file (and any required files) to the USB drive

Enter BIOS/UEFI setup

Select the vendor’s BIOS Flash/Update tool and choose the BIOS file from USB

Start the update and wait for completion without interruption

If using vendor tools (e.g., EZ Flash, Q-Flash, Flashback, etc.):

Use the specific feature name provided by your manufacturer

Follow the exact button/port/file steps in the vendor instructions

After the update completes:

Power the system back on (or allow it to reboot automatically, if the vendor specifies)

Enter BIOS/UEFI setup and load defaults if recommended

Reconfigure BIOS settings (boot order, XMP/DOCP, fan curves, RAID settings) as needed

Verify the BIOS version in BIOS/UEFI or using the manufacturer’s system information tool

If the update fails or the system won’t boot:

Use the manufacturer’s recovery method (Dual BIOS, BIOS Flashback, recovery jumper, or official recovery procedure) as documented for your exact model
