Check your Toyota model and head unit compatibility with CarPlay
Confirm whether your current system supports a software update or needs a hardware upgrade
Connect the vehicle to a stable Wi-Fi network if the system supports over-the-air updates
Turn the ignition to accessory mode or keep the engine running
Open the infotainment system settings
Select System Update, Software Update, or Firmware Update
Download and install any available update
Do not turn off the vehicle during the update process
Restart the head unit after the update completes
Connect an iPhone with a certified Lightning cable if wired CarPlay is supported
Enable Siri on the iPhone
Go to iPhone Settings
Tap General
Tap CarPlay
Select your Toyota from the list
If CarPlay is not available after updating, check whether your Toyota needs a dealer-installed retrofit
Visit an authorized Toyota dealer for a CarPlay retrofit kit if required
Ask the dealer to confirm compatibility with your exact model year and trim
Update your iPhone to the latest iOS version
Reset the Toyota infotainment system if CarPlay still does not appear
Remove the vehicle from iPhone CarPlay settings and reconnect it
Use an original or MFi-certified cable for wired CarPlay
Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on the iPhone if wireless CarPlay is supported
Check Toyota owner support resources for model-specific update instructions
