Open the Instagram app
Go to your profile
Tap the menu icon
Select Settings and privacy
Check for app updates in your device’s app store
Update Instagram if an update is available
Restart the app after updating
Open Direct Messages
If messaging features changed, sign out and sign back in
Clear the app cache on Android if needed
Reinstall Instagram if the issue continues
