Check whether your phone supports 5G hardware
Update your Android system software
Insert a 5G SIM card if required by your carrier
Make sure you are in a 5G coverage area
Open Settings
Tap Network & Internet or Connections
Tap Mobile Network or SIM settings
Select your SIM card
Tap Preferred network type
Choose 5G/4G/3G/2G or 5G Auto
Enable 5G in carrier settings if available
Restart your phone
Contact your carrier to activate 5G on your plan
Replace your phone if it does not support 5G hardware
