Turn on Bluetooth on your PC, or connect the controller with a USB cable

Press and hold the Xbox button on the controller to turn it on

Press and hold the Pair button on the controller until the Xbox button flashes

On your PC, open Bluetooth settings

Select Add device or Pair new device

Choose Bluetooth

Select Xbox Wireless Controller from the list

Wait for the controller to connect

Open your game or app and use the controller

If Bluetooth is unavailable, use a USB cable or Xbox Wireless Adapter

Install Windows updates if the controller is not detected

Update controller firmware using the Xbox Accessories app if needed
