Earn the Southwest Companion Pass by qualifying with the required points or flights in a calendar year

Add your designated companion to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account

Book your own Southwest flight using cash, points, or a flight credit

After booking, log in to your Southwest account and select “Add Companion”

Enter your companion’s information exactly as it appears on their government-issued ID

Pay only the taxes and fees for the companion ticket

Bring the same companion on every eligible Southwest flight while the pass is active

Change your companion up to three times per calendar year if needed

Use the Companion Pass only on Southwest-operated flights

Make sure both travelers are booked on the same itinerary and travel together

Rebook or cancel the companion ticket if you change or cancel your own reservation

Keep your companion’s Rapid Rewards number and personal details updated in your account

Check expiration dates and travel rules before booking

Use the pass for award flights as well as paid flights
