How To Use Nasal Spray?

Wash your hands.

Shake the nasal spray if the label says to do so.

Blow your nose gently to clear the nostrils.

Remove the cap.

If using a new bottle or one you haven’t used for a while, prime it by spraying into the air as directed on the label.

Tilt your head slightly forward.

Use your left hand for your right nostril and your right hand for your left nostril (or follow the label’s guidance).

Insert the nozzle into one nostril, aiming slightly outward toward the ear, not toward the center of the nose.

Close the other nostril with a finger.

Breathe in gently through your nose as you press the pump to release one spray.

Keep breathing in gently for a moment, then breathe out through your mouth.

Repeat for the other nostril if directed.

If more than one spray is prescribed per nostril, wait the time specified on the label (or a few seconds) between sprays.

Wipe the nozzle and replace the cap.

Wash your hands again.

Avoid blowing your nose immediately after using the spray.

Follow the prescribed dose and schedule.

Do not share your nasal spray.

Store according to the label instructions.

Seek medical advice if you have severe nosebleeds, worsening symptoms, or signs of an allergic reaction.

For decongestant sprays (if applicable), use only for the maximum duration listed on the label to avoid rebound congestion.
