Select the correct screw extractor size for the damaged screw
Drill a centered pilot hole into the screw head using the recommended drill bit
Insert the extractor into the drilled hole
Turn the extractor counterclockwise with a tap wrench or adjustable wrench
Apply steady pressure while turning until the screw loosens
Remove the screw completely once it starts backing out
Clean the hole and inspect the threads after removal
