Press Shift + Command + 4
Drag to select the area you want to capture
Release the mouse or trackpad button to take the screenshot
Press Escape to cancel before capturing
Press Shift + Command + 3 to capture the entire screen
Press Shift + Command + 4, then press Spacebar to capture a specific window
Click the window to capture it
Press Shift + Command + 5 to open screenshot controls
Choose screen capture, window capture, or selected portion
Select Options to change save location, timer, and other settings
Use the thumbnail preview to edit or share the screenshot
Find saved screenshots on the desktop by default
Open the Screenshot app from Shift + Command + 5 for more capture options
