Rinse the stained area immediately with cold running water
Blot gently with a clean cloth or paper towel
Soak the fabric in cold water for 30 to 60 minutes
Rub a small amount of liquid laundry detergent into the stain
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Rinse again with cold water
Apply hydrogen peroxide to white or colorfast fabrics if needed
Rinse thoroughly after using hydrogen peroxide
Repeat the detergent and rinse steps until the stain fades
Wash the clothing in cold water
Check the stain before drying
Air-dry the clothing until the stain is completely gone
Repeat the treatment if any stain remains
Avoid hot water and machine drying until the blood is removed
