Drain all fresh water from the fresh tank, hot water heater, and holding tanks
Bypass the water heater if your system has a bypass valve
Open all faucets, shower heads, and low-point drains to remove remaining water
Flush the toilet and drain any water from the toilet system
Blow out water lines with compressed air if recommended for your motorhome
Add RV antifreeze to the plumbing system if required by your winterizing method
Pour antifreeze into all drains, traps, and toilet bowl as needed
Turn off the water pump and water heater
Disconnect and fully charge or remove the house batteries
Check battery electrolyte levels if using serviceable batteries
Store batteries in a cool, dry place and maintain charge during storage
Clean the interior thoroughly and remove all food
Empty and clean the refrigerator, freezer, and ice maker
Leave refrigerator and cabinet doors slightly open to prevent odors and mold
Close propane valves and inspect for leaks if needed
Disconnect shore power and switch off all appliances
Cover or seal vents, openings, and exhausts to keep pests out
Wash and wax the exterior
Inspect roof, seals, and seams for damage and repair as needed
Inflate tires to the recommended storage pressure
Park on level ground and use tire covers if storing outdoors
Use leveling blocks or jack stands if recommended by the manufacturer
Start and run the engine and generator according to storage guidelines
Change engine oil and filters if due before storage
Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank if storing for an extended period
Fill the fuel tank if recommended to reduce condensation
Drain or treat the generator fuel system as required
Cover the motorhome with a breathable cover if appropriate
Check local storage conditions and protect from snow, ice, and rodents
