Turn off the circuit breaker and verify power is off with a tester
Remove the switch and outlet cover plates
Identify the incoming hot, neutral, and ground wires
Connect the ground wire to the green ground screw on the switch and outlet
Connect the neutral wire to the silver terminal on the outlet
Connect the hot wire to the brass terminal on the outlet or to the switch common terminal as required
Run a jumper from the always-hot source to the switch common if sharing power
Connect the switched hot wire from the switch output to the light fixture hot lead
Connect any remaining neutral wires together in the box
Connect all ground wires together and to both devices
Secure the switch and outlet in the box
Install the cover plates
Restore power and test the switch and outlet
If wiring is unfamiliar or the circuit is not clearly identified, hire a licensed electrician
