Use a built-in screen recorder with system audio enabled
On Windows, open Xbox Game Bar and start recording with microphone or system audio settings adjusted
On macOS, use QuickTime Player with a virtual audio driver installed for system sound
Install a virtual audio device such as VB-Audio Cable, BlackHole, or Loopback
Set the virtual audio device as the output device in your sound settings
Open your recording app and select the virtual audio device as the input source
Use Audacity to record computer audio through the virtual audio device
Use OBS Studio and add an audio input capture or desktop audio source
Enable desktop audio in OBS and choose the correct playback device
Record only the active application if your software supports app-specific audio capture
Check your operating system privacy and sound permissions before recording
Test the audio level before starting the full recording
Save the recording in a common format such as MP3, WAV, or MP4
