Park on a level surface and secure the vehicle with wheel chocks
Wear gloves and eye protection
Locate the brake fluid reservoir and remove the cap
Use a turkey baster, syringe, or fluid extractor to remove fluid from the reservoir
Place a drain pan under the brake caliper or wheel cylinder
Loosen the bleeder screw on the brake caliper or wheel cylinder
Attach a clear hose to the bleeder screw and place the other end in the drain pan
Have an assistant press the brake pedal slowly if needed
Open the bleeder screw to let fluid drain out
Close the bleeder screw before releasing the brake pedal
Repeat at each wheel until the system is drained
Keep the reservoir from running dry if you are not fully flushing the system
Dispose of used brake fluid according to local regulations
Refill the reservoir with the correct new brake fluid after draining
Bleed the brakes after refilling if air entered the system
