How to Play a Mouth Harp?

Hold the mouth harp by the frame with the decorated side facing outward

Place the frame gently against your teeth or lips, keeping the reed centered in front of your mouth

Keep your jaw relaxed and your mouth slightly open

Pluck the reed with your finger in a quick, firm motion

Use your mouth as a resonating chamber by changing the shape of your tongue, lips, and throat

Breathe in and out smoothly while playing

Change the pitch by moving your tongue forward and back

Change the tone by opening and closing your mouth more or less

Play short, controlled plucks to start

Avoid biting the reed or pressing the instrument too hard

Practice with different mouth shapes to create different sounds

Stop if your lips, teeth, or jaw become sore
