Book a Southwest flight using your own Rapid Rewards account
Add your Companion Pass holder to the reservation after booking
Ensure the companion’s name matches their government ID exactly
Pay only the taxes and fees for the companion ticket
Use the pass for both domestic and international Southwest flights where allowed
Change or cancel the main ticket if needed, then rebook the companion as necessary
Make sure the companion is not already booked on another Southwest reservation for the same trip
Use the pass only for one designated companion at a time
Update your designated companion if you want to travel with someone else
Redeem points or cash for your own fare as usual
Add the companion through your Southwest account or by contacting Southwest
Check that the companion ticket is linked to the same itinerary as your ticket
Bring the same companion on all eligible flights in the reservation
Re-add the companion if the flight changes and the reservation is reissued
