Choose a time when the baby is calm and awake

Use a small amount of baby-safe oil or lotion if needed

Start with gentle strokes on the legs and feet

Use light pressure only

Massage one area at a time

Move slowly and watch the baby’s reactions

Stop if the baby seems upset, stiff, or tired

Avoid the fontanelle, spine, and belly button area

Avoid massaging right after feeding

Keep the session short, about 5 to 10 minutes

Support the baby’s head and neck at all times

Use soft circular motions on the chest and tummy if the baby is comfortable

Gently stretch and massage the arms and hands

Finish with a calm cuddle or wrapping the baby warmly
