Open the Minecraft Launcher
Go to the Installations tab
Click New Installation or select an existing one
Open the Version dropdown menu
Choose the Minecraft version you want
Save the installation
Select that installation from the Play menu
Click Play
For Bedrock Edition, open the Microsoft Store or launcher and update or install the desired version if available
For Java Edition, use the launcher to switch versions through Installations
