How to Cut Basil Plant?

Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears

Cut just above a pair of leaves or a leaf node

Remove the top 1/3 of the stem

Cut multiple stems, not just one

Avoid cutting below the lowest set of leaves

Pinch off flower buds as soon as they appear

Harvest regularly to encourage bushier growth

Cut in the morning for best flavor

Leave enough leaves on the plant for regrowth

Trim no more than half the plant at one time
