Check the tire sidewall for the recommended pressure range
Identify the valve type: Schrader or Presta
Remove the valve cap
If using a Presta valve, unscrew the small top nut and press it briefly to release air
Attach the pump head to the valve
Lock the pump head in place if required
Pump air into the tire
Check the pressure with a gauge if available
Stop when the tire reaches the recommended pressure
Detach the pump head
For a Presta valve, tighten the small top nut
Replace the valve cap
Spin the wheel and check that the tire is seated properly
