Grate or shred 1 bar of laundry soap
Mix the grated soap with 1 cup washing soda
Add 1 cup borax if desired
Stir until evenly combined
Store in an airtight container
Use 1 to 2 tablespoons per load
For high-efficiency machines, use less
Keep away from moisture
