Let the wax harden completely
Scrape off excess wax with a dull knife or spoon
Place a paper towel or brown paper bag over the wax
Press a warm iron on top for a few seconds at a time
Replace the paper towel as wax transfers to it
Repeat until no more wax lifts out
Blot any remaining residue with rubbing alcohol if the carpet is colorfast
Vacuum the area after it cools
Repeat as needed until clean
