How to Replace Oil Pressure Sensor?

Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine

Let the engine cool completely

Disconnect the negative battery terminal

Locate the oil pressure sensor on the engine block

Place a drain pan or absorbent material under the sensor area

Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor

Remove any components blocking access to the sensor

Use the correct socket or wrench to remove the old sensor

Compare the old sensor with the new sensor

Apply thread sealant if required by the manufacturer

Install the new sensor by hand first

Tighten the sensor to the manufacturer’s specified torque

Reconnect the electrical connector

Reinstall any removed components

Reconnect the negative battery terminal

Start the engine and check for oil leaks

Verify the oil pressure warning light is off

Scan for diagnostic trouble codes if needed
