How To Clean Window Tracks?

Gather supplies: vacuum with brush attachment, microfiber cloths, old toothbrush or small scrub brush, mild dish soap, white vinegar or glass cleaner, baking soda (optional), warm water, bucket, paper towels

Remove loose debris: vacuum the track thoroughly, especially corners and seams

Loosen grime: mix warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap; apply to the track

Scrub: use a toothbrush/small brush to work cleaner into corners and buildup

For heavy buildup: sprinkle baking soda on the track, then add a small amount of vinegar or water; let sit 5–10 minutes, then scrub

Rinse: wipe with a damp cloth and/or pour small amounts of clean water to flush out loosened dirt

Dry: wipe until fully dry to prevent sticking and mildew

Clean the track openings/weep holes (if present): use a toothpick, soft brush, or compressed air to clear clogs

Re-check movement: slide the window/door open and closed to ensure smooth travel

Lubricate (if appropriate): apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to rollers/hinge points, not in a way that leaves excess residue in the track

Final wipe: remove any remaining residue with a dry microfiber cloth
