Loosen and remove the old strings one at a time
Clean the fretboard, bridge, and tuning posts
Identify the strings by gauge and order
Insert the first string through the bridge tie block
Loop the string back over itself to form a secure knot
Pull the string snug so the knot seats against the bridge
Thread the other end through the tuning post hole
Leave a few inches of slack for winding
Bend the string sharply at the post to lock it in place
Wind the string toward the center of the headstock
Keep the wraps neat and downward on the post
Repeat for all six strings
Tune each string up gradually to pitch
Stretch each string gently by hand
Retune until the strings hold pitch
Trim excess string ends close to the posts
