Test the soil pH first
Use elemental sulfur
Apply aluminum sulfate
Add peat moss
Use acidifying fertilizers such as ammonium sulfate or urea
Incorporate organic matter like pine needles, oak leaves, or composted bark
Water with rainwater instead of alkaline tap water
Avoid lime and wood ash
Repeat soil tests and reapply as needed
