Blot up as much urine as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth
Press firmly and replace towels as they soak up moisture
Mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water
Lightly spray or dab the solution onto the affected area
Blot again with a clean cloth
Sprinkle baking soda over the damp area
Let it sit until fully dry
Vacuum up the baking soda
If odor remains, use an enzyme cleaner made for pet urine
Follow the product instructions and let it dry completely
Repeat if needed
Avoid rubbing the carpet
Test any cleaner on a hidden spot first
