How to Cook Brussel Sprouts in Skillet?

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any loose outer leaves

Rinse and dry the Brussels sprouts thoroughly

Cut the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat

Add oil or butter to the skillet

Place the Brussels sprouts cut-side down in a single layer

Cook without stirring for 4 to 5 minutes until browned

Flip the Brussels sprouts and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes

Add salt and pepper to taste

Add minced garlic, if desired, during the last 1 minute of cooking

Add a splash of water and cover briefly if the sprouts need to soften more

Remove from heat when tender and caramelized

Serve immediately
