Click the Finder icon
Locate the USB drive in the sidebar
Click the Eject icon next to the USB drive
Drag the USB drive icon to the Trash in the Dock
Right-click the USB drive icon and select Eject
Press Command + E while the USB drive is selected
Wait until the USB drive disappears from Finder
Unplug the USB drive from the MacBook
