Look at last year’s federal tax return
Find Form 1040
Check line 11 for Adjusted Gross Income
If you filed jointly, use the AGI from that joint return
If you e-filed, use the prior-year AGI from your tax software or IRS account
If you cannot find your return, request a tax transcript from the IRS
Use IRS Form 4506-T to get a transcript by mail if needed
If you amended your return, use the AGI from the original return unless instructed otherwise
