Check your IRS account for your current IP PIN if you already have one
Review IRS Notice CP01A, which is mailed each year if you are assigned an IP PIN
Call the IRS at 800-908-4490 if you cannot access your IP PIN online
Complete Form 15227 if you are eligible to request an IP PIN by mail or fax
Visit an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center if you need in-person help with identity verification
Use the IP PIN on your federal tax return when filing
Request a new IP PIN each year if the IRS requires annual renewal
