1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1–2 tablespoons ice water
1/4 teaspoon paprika, optional
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, optional
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
Combine flour, salt, paprika, and garlic powder
Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly
Add shredded cheese and mix well
Add ice water a little at a time until dough forms
Roll dough out thin on a floured surface
Cut into small squares or rectangles
Poke a small hole in the center of each piece
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Bake for 12–15 minutes until crisp and lightly golden
Cool completely before serving
