Remove the wheel from the vehicle
Clean the rim thoroughly with soap and water
Remove grease, dirt, and brake dust
Dry the rim completely
Remove the tire or mask the tire carefully
Remove the valve stem and weights if needed
Sand the rim to remove old paint and create adhesion
Wipe the rim with a tack cloth or degreaser
Apply painter’s tape to protect areas not being painted
Apply a metal primer in thin, even coats
Let the primer dry fully
Sand lightly between coats if needed
Apply wheel paint in thin, even coats
Allow each coat to dry before applying the next
Apply additional coats until coverage is even
Apply a clear coat for protection if desired
Let the rim cure completely
Reinstall the tire and wheel
Reattach the wheel to the vehicle
Check for missed spots or uneven finish
