Insert fresh batteries into the new Roku remote
Turn on the Roku device and TV
Point the remote at the Roku device
Press and hold the pairing button inside the battery compartment for 3 to 5 seconds
Wait for the pairing light to flash
Release the pairing button
Wait for the remote to pair automatically
Follow any on-screen pairing prompts if they appear
If the remote does not pair, restart the Roku device and try again
If needed, unplug the Roku device for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and repeat pairing
For a simple IR Roku remote, make sure there is a clear line of sight to the Roku device
If pairing still fails, replace the batteries and try again
