Open the window fully
Locate the screen tabs, latches, or springs
Release the screen fasteners
Push the screen frame slightly inward or pull it toward you, depending on the window type
Tilt one side of the screen out of the window opening
Lift the screen out carefully
Set the screen aside on a flat surface
