Move furniture away and cover floors with drop cloths
Remove outlet and switch covers
Score the wallpaper lightly with a wallpaper scorer
Fill a spray bottle with warm water and wallpaper remover or vinegar
Spray the wallpaper until it is thoroughly wet
Let the solution soak for several minutes
Start at a seam or corner and peel the wallpaper slowly
Use a putty knife or scraper to lift stubborn sections
Rewet areas that resist removal
Repeat soaking and scraping until all wallpaper is removed
Remove leftover paste with warm water and a sponge
Wash the wall clean and let it dry
Repair any wall damage with spackle if needed
Sand smooth after repairs
Prime the wall before painting or applying new wallpaper
