Move the oven rack to the top position or the position recommended in your oven manual
Preheat the broiler if your oven requires preheating
Place food on a broiler-safe pan or baking sheet
Set the oven to Broil
Keep the oven door slightly open if your oven model requires it
Put the food on the top rack, close to the broiler element
Watch the food closely while broiling
Flip or rotate the food if needed for even cooking
Remove the food when it reaches the desired browning or doneness
Turn off Broil after use
Let the oven and pan cool before handling
Clean any drips or splatter after the oven cools
