How To Cook Salmon In A Skillet?

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels

Season both sides with salt and pepper

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat

Add a small amount of oil to the skillet

Place the salmon skin-side down if it has skin

Press gently for a few seconds to keep it flat

Cook without moving it for 4 to 6 minutes

Flip the salmon carefully

Cook the other side for 2 to 4 minutes

Add butter, garlic, or herbs if desired during the last minute

Remove the salmon when it flakes easily and is cooked through

Transfer to a plate and let it rest briefly before serving
