Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel
Rinse the back of the stain with cold water
Apply liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently rub the detergent into the fabric
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse with cold water
Repeat if needed before drying
For stubborn stains, soak the clothing in cold water with detergent
Use a stain remover if the stain remains
Wash the item according to the care label
Check that the stain is gone before putting it in the dryer
Avoid hot water until the stain is removed
For white clothes, use oxygen bleach if fabric-safe
