Avoid heavy creams, oils, and occlusive ointments
Avoid makeup on the affected area
Avoid scrubs, acids, retinoids, and benzoyl peroxide
Avoid fluoride toothpaste if it seems to worsen symptoms
Avoid topical antibiotics or prescription treatments unless prescribed
Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate the rash
Use lukewarm water only
See a dermatologist or clinician for proper treatment
Seek urgent care if there is severe swelling, pain, pus, fever, or eye involvement
