Download the latest BIOS file for the exact motherboard model
Read the manufacturer’s BIOS update instructions and release notes
Check whether the update requires a specific previous BIOS version
Prepare a USB flash drive formatted as FAT32
Copy the BIOS file to the USB flash drive if required
Connect the computer to stable power or a UPS
Close all running programs and save any work
Enter the BIOS/UEFI setup during startup
