Open and close the door to locate the squeak
Tighten the hinge screws with a screwdriver
Replace any stripped or missing screws
Apply a few drops of lubricant to the hinge pins
Work the door back and forth to spread the lubricant
Wipe away any excess lubricant
Remove the hinge pin if needed and lubricate it directly
Clean rust or dirt from the hinge components
Replace damaged or worn hinges
Check that the door is aligned properly
Lubricate the latch if the noise is coming from the lock area
