Turn off the washing machine and unplug it
Shut off the water supply
Place towels and a shallow pan or bucket near the machine
Locate the drain hose or pump filter
If using the drain hose, lower it into the bucket and remove the cap or plug
Let the water drain completely
If using the pump filter, open the access panel and slowly unscrew the filter
Catch the water as it drains into the pan or bucket
Remove any lint, coins, or debris from the filter
Reinstall the filter or cap securely
Reattach the drain hose if removed
Plug the machine back in and restore the water supply
Run a short drain or spin cycle to confirm it is empty
