Turn off the water supply
Open the taps to drain any remaining water
Remove the old shower taps and trim plates
Clean the pipe threads and mounting area
Wrap plumber’s tape around threaded connections
Fit the new shower tap body or valve in place
Tighten all connections securely
Attach the handles and trim plates
Reconnect the water supply
Check for leaks
Test hot and cold operation
Seal around the trim with silicone if needed
