Trim the cat’s nails if needed
Brush the cat to remove tangles and loose fur
Gather cat shampoo, towels, and a non-slip mat
Fill a sink or tub with a few inches of lukewarm water
Place the cat gently in the water
Wet the cat’s body slowly, avoiding the face, ears, and eyes
Apply a small amount of cat shampoo
Massage the shampoo through the fur
Rinse thoroughly until no shampoo remains
Wipe the face with a damp cloth if needed
Lift the cat out carefully
Wrap the cat in a towel
Dry the cat as much as possible with towels
Keep the cat in a warm, quiet place until fully dry
Brush the cat again once dry if needed
