Turn off the light switch
Turn off power at the breaker
Let the bulb cool down
Use a stable ladder if needed
Hold the bulb firmly with both hands
Rotate the bulb a quarter turn
Pull the bulb straight out
Match the replacement bulb type and size
Insert the new bulb into the socket
Rotate the bulb until it locks in place
Turn the power back on
Test the light
Recycle the old bulb properly
