How To Iron On Patches?

Preheat the iron to the patch’s recommended setting (usually medium heat without steam)

Wash and dry the item first; ensure the fabric is fully dry

Place a thin cloth or pressing paper over the patch to protect it

Position the patch where you want it; ensure it lies flat with no wrinkles

Press firmly for 10–20 seconds, then lift and recheck alignment

Continue ironing in short bursts (10–20 seconds at a time) for a total of about 30–60 seconds

Press along the edges and corners with extra care to ensure full adhesion

Allow the patch to cool for several minutes before moving the item

Turn the garment inside out (if the patch allows) and press from the back for 10–20 seconds to help seal the adhesive

Do a quick tug test after cooling; if it lifts, press again for additional short bursts

Avoid steam and do not slide the iron back and forth

Wait 24 hours before heavy washing or drying, if the patch instructions allow

Wash on the gentlest cycle and turn the item inside out for best longevity
